Background
Mission Alliance, together with Norwegian Mission Society (NMS) and Normisjon, is implementing the MAAI4L (AI for Capacity, Innovation and Shared Learning) project, funded through Digni’s Joint Learning Scheme. The project explores how AI‑enabled chatbots can strengthen programme quality, learning, and development impact in low‑resource settings. Building on lessons from earlier chatbot initiatives, MAAI4L will pilot AI chatbots within active development programmes in Uganda, Ethiopia, and India, with a strong emphasis on localisation, partner ownership, and practical use in the field. 

What we are looking for
We are seeking an experienced AI Chatbot Developer Consultant to design, develop, and support the deployment and adoption of context‑appropriate chatbot solutions. The assignment combines technical development with close collaboration with programme partners, capacity building for non‑technical staff, and iterative improvement based on user feedback. We are looking for a consultant with strong experience in AI chatbot development, an understanding of low‑connectivity and multilingual environments, and an interest in applying technology in development and learning contexts.
