Mission Alliance has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Programme and Grants Management team as the Global Safeguarding Expert/Advisor at our Oslo office or any Mission Alliance country office worldwide.

Our portfolio includes projects in economic inclusion, strong civil society, and safeguarding, totaling more than 80 million NOK annually across 11 countries, with over half of this funded by Norad. Mission Alliance focuses on preventing and building resilience to violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation in vulnerable populations across Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

Mission Alliance has agreed on an ambitious new Strategy (2024-2028) with safeguarding against violence and abuse as a cornerstone in our work, and we are now seeking our next safeguarding expert. This individual will be dedicated to developing and innovating our project work in safeguarding vulnerable groups such as women and children.

The Global Safeguarding Expert/Advisor will be responsible for developing and ensuring high quality delivery and efficient operation of our safeguarding work in projects, ensuring synergies and co-learning across projects in Mission Alliance, as well as quality assurance of project applications and designs. The role will provide support to and work closely with our country offices.

In this position, you will:

  • Enhance the field of safeguarding within the project portfolio, by ensuring consistent quality and synergies across projects.
  • Provide expertise for the global organisation on project development and approaches within the field of safeguarding.
  • Oversee project applications and reports from projects and programs, offer guidance and capacity building for the country offices.
  • Contribute to proposal writing.
  • Actively contribute to the goals of the international department
  • Keeping updated on current trends, research, and developments in safeguarding.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relevant university degree, e.g. development studies
  • Commitment to and experience with safeguarding for vulnerable groups in low- and middle-income countries.
  • Strong understanding of development assistance and results management.
  • Good digital skills and experience with digital collaboration.
  • Good language skills in English, and preferably Norwegian.
  • Knowledge of Latin America and Spanish is desirable.
